Highlights of the super sixes Cricket Fiesta MTD Walkers Group of Companies organized the “Super Sixes” six members Cricket Tournament at the NCC Grounds on 14th December 2013 for the 02nd phase.  There were more than 2000 members participated for this event.The first place was triumphed by Black Opel of Walkers Sons and the second place was conquest by Asphalt Plant (A) – Merigama of CML-MTD Construction and third place followed by Sapugaskanda Team. Out of female teams CML Achievers of CML-MTD Construction triumphed the first place and second place was won by Walkers Tycoon of Walkers Sons.

The following players were awarded special trophies and Certificates.

  • Man of the Match – Anura of Black Opal.
  • Man of the series – Sithara of Mirigama Asphalt Plant - A
  • Best batsman – Sampath of Black Opal.
  • Best bowler – Sithara of Asphalt Plant, Mirigama
  • Best Fielder – Sajith of Black Opal.

In the women’s match Niroji De Silva won the award for the best player. Mr. Jehan Amarathunga, the Deputy Chairman of   MTD Walkers Group and Mr. Dian Jayasuriya, the Managing Director of CML MTD Construction Ltd were among the chief guest of the prize giving. End of the Cricket Tournament, a musical Show was held to conclude the day successfully. This tournament was organized by the Human Resource Department of the MTD Walkers Group.

Philippines

Regional Government Centre (RGC) Calabarzon

On 23 January, 2013, AlloyMtd Group and Calamba City Council signed a Joint Venture Agreement to construct, operate and manage the Calabarzon Regional Government Center.

Mtd Philippines, Inc., undertook the funding, design, construction, operation and management of Calabarzon (Region IV-A) Regional Government Centre of Philippines.

The Region IV-A Regional Government Centre is a pioneering joint venture project with the Calamba City Government in light of EO 246 where the regional offices of Calabarzon will be integrated into a single location. The project is expected to be completed by 2015.

Ilocos Sur Government Center and Business Hub

On June 17, 2014, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur and MTD Philippines, Inc.  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the objective of developing a Satellite Government Center and Business Hub in the Heritage City of Vigan. The activity marked the launching of the project, envisioned to promote efficiency in the delivery of public services while sustaining the provincial government’s drive to improve the economy by attracting a wide array of investments in the province.The MOU was signed in official ceremonies at the provincial capitol by Hon. Ryan Singson, governor of Ilocos Sur, and the president of MTD Philippines, Inc.,Mr. Isaac S. David. AlloyMtd President and CEO, Dato’ Dr. Azmil Khalid, addressed the audience and conveyed MTD’s support in ensuring the success of the project. At hand to witness the activity were AlloyMtd Deputy President and COO, Datin Fuziah Tan Sri Nik Hussein and CFO, Ms. Tan Siew Chaing.

The ceremony was attended by provincial government officials and employees and residents of Ilocos Sur, including a group of Muslim businessmen who expressed elation that a Malaysian conglomerate will soon be part of a meaningful project that will help stimulate economic development of the region.

After the signing of the MOU, MTD executives and provincial officials together lowered a time capsule to mark the event.

Saudi Arabia

Factory in Asfan, Jeddah, KSA

  • A pre-cast factory for Industrialised Building System (IBS) is currently being set-up in Asfan, Jeddah, KSA by AlloyMtd through their Special Purpose Vehicle in KSA, Construction House Company Limited (CHC Ltd)
  • Land approximately 100,000 square meter has been leased for the setting-up of the factory. The land is located approximately 100 km from Jeddah
  • This development is in view of the current and future residential and school projects in KSA
  • Works for Land Survey and Soils Investigation have started and expected to complete by middle September 2014
  • Physical construction works are scheduled to commence by mid October 2014.

Indonesia

Cigading International Bulk Terminal (CIBT)

CIBT has been marketing the facility of coal market to handle all kinds
of bulk materials. To date CIBT has handled unloading of materials
such as sand, iron ore, gypsum and loading of fertilizer, and soya
beans.

CIBT has also secured a contract with the port owner Krakatau Bandar Samudra
to handle loading steel slacks with a minimum quantity of 300,000 MT per
year.

CIBT is now working with a potential client to handle the unloading of
clinkers with a minimum the client volume of 1.75 MMT per year, if materialized
it should come into operations by second quarter 2015.

MTD CTP Expressway

MTD CTP Expressway has obtained bridging loan from the government for the
amount of Rp288 billion (USD28M). The bridging loan has been fully utilized
with land area acquired less than 10 percent of the total land required.

In July this year, Indonesian government is ready with Rp800 billion for
land capping for our stretch and requested for the reactivation on the land
acquisition. MTD CTP Expressway has since reactivated the land acquisition
to maximize the utilization of the Rp800 billion budgetted for this year.
